Weekend Antique Haul – Springfield Extravaganza Spring 2023

by Contributing Author

Hi everyone! Well, it’s that time of year again… it’s flea market season! During the winter, you can stop by an antique shop and shop for antiques here and there on the weekends, but when the weather warms up in the summer, there are always flea markets and events, so you could do it every week. Last weekend we attended the Springfield Extravaganza in Springfield, Ohio and it did not disappoint. If you want to find a flea market near you, I asked in a recent IG post [HERE] It would be helpful if you could share in the comments which markets other people will be attending this year, along with the locations. Be sure to share where you promote those markets and help others. I wanted to share what I got this weekend, but I couldn’t unload the trailer, so I’ll share the small ones first…

A small list of things I picked up to inspire your next flea market visit:

  • tall wall cabinet with doors
  • chippy corbel shelf
  • painted folding chair
  • vintage outdoor lights
  • grilled antique cabbage
  • antique chalkware sheep
  • wooden architecture flower art
  • Vintage Framed “Boy & Bunny” Art
  • Italian fruit topiary made of ceramic
  • Beatrix Potter vintage book
  • antique planter
  • antique mail holder

It’s been a lot of fun and we have some bigger ones in the works that we can’t wait to show you. Honestly, the Springfield festivities are so big that we could have kept going, but with a toddler and the weather on the first hot weekend of the year…we were only half done! If you go, take a few days to pack your wagon, hydration, etc. It’s amazing because it’s really a flea market like a marathon. There is definitely something for everyone. We also stopped by a local antique shop, the Heart of Ohio Antiques, and purchased a few things there.

I’ve started putting some pieces around the house, but as many of you know, we’re currently remodeling, so a lot of it is in storage, and the house is pretty battered, so I’m not going to keep it. Some will be placed later. , but some pieces will be sent to our shop, The Found Cottage, so follow me on Instagram. I will share the details there.I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and if that is your goal, I hope you find some treasure!! [HERE] Looking for more antique inspiration!
