Homemade pizza has never been easier thanks to this foolproof recipe for pizza dough.

Can be used for pizza, calzones, breadsticks and more.

easy homemade pizza dough

This homemade pizza dough is super easy. It can be made by hand (and good old hand kneading) in a stand mixer equipped with a dough hook, or in a bowl using a spoon or spatula.

Ingredients for pizza dough:

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2-3 cups all-purpose flour (Bread crumbs, ’00’ flour, or half a whole grain also work well)
Place water, flour and yeast in a Bosch mixer with dough hook.

Pizza dough should be very soft and supple. The most important thing is not to sprinkle too much flour when kneading the dough.

Add flour until the dough pulls away from the sides and/or center of the bowl.

Mix the pizza dough in a white bowl with a dough hook.

The fabric should be soft and stretchy and not leave too much residue on your fingers.

short rise time

This quick and easy homemade pizza dough requires only a short rising time. Only 10-20 minutes until the gluten has loosened and the dough has risen slightly.

However, if it fits your timeline, you can leave it fermenting for an hour or so (fermenting in the refrigerator is very slow).

Pull the soft pizza dough out of the mixer.

How to assemble and bake homemade pizza

  1. Preheat oven to 475-500 degrees Fahrenheit. Don’t be afraid of high temperatures! This is the secret to making delicious homemade pizza.
  2. Heat the pizza stone in the oven for 45-60 minutes before baking the pizza. investment in pizza stone {aff. link} Great home made pizza worth it. (I also have a baking steel, but I prefer baking pizzas on a pizza stone.)
  3. Use the pizza crust to move the pizza in and out of the oven. I wooden pizza crust {aff. link} but metal pizza peel {aff. link} Popular and works well.
  4. Make a homemade pizza shape on lightly oiled parchment paper or directly on a pizza crust. I like using parchment so I can have several pizzas assembled and ready to bake (or allow people to customize their own pizzas) at once. It’s also more troublesome than using cornmeal. Different brands of parchment paper vary in thickness/durability. Thicker brands are great for baking pizza.this is You can use parchment paper in a hot oven – It darkens and can become brittle if baked at high temperatures, but siding the pizza inside and out with a pizza crust works well (this is the only way I make homemade pizza).

Quick and easy pizza dough that anyone can make

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 tea spoon salt
  • 2-3 cup (284-426 g) All purpose, bread or ’00’ flour (see note)
  • In a large bowl, or the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, combine water, honey, oil, yeast, and salt.

  • Gradually add the flour until a soft dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the bowl. The exact amount of flour varies, so decide by the texture and feel of the dough as opposed to the exact cup measurements in the recipe. The dough should be soft and smooth (does not leave residue on fingers) please

  • Knead the dough for 2-3 minutes (5-6 minutes for hand kneading and whole wheat flour).

  • Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  • Form the dough into a pizza shape, spread the sauce and toppings, and bake on a preheated pizza stone (heat the stone in the oven for 1 hour before baking) or a lightly greased baking sheet at 475 or 500 degrees for 8 seconds. 10 minutes.

flour: This dough also works well with a portion of whole wheat flour (I usually use 50% white whole wheat flour instead of all purpose flour). I am using it with good results.
Increase recipe: This recipe works 2x, 3x, 4x. If doubling, use double the amount for all ingredients. For 3x and 4x batches, increase all ingredients accordingly except yeast. Use only 2 tablespoons yeast for 3x batches and 2 1/2 tablespoons yeast for 4x batches. Be careful with the flour if you increase the recipe. You want a soft, smooth dough. Definitely not too sticky and not too floured.
