Construction is officially well underway at our home and it’s pretty wild behind the scenes here. Instagram You may have seen my story over the weekend – EekFor those curious, we promise to share a more detailed construction update soon. It contains some interesting and potentially scary surprises. , owes you a serious design update. As a refresher, this post details how far our renovation plans have come. And this post shows the futuristic vibe that is the inspiration for the kitchen we’re aiming for (very good, IMHO).
Lately I’ve found that drawing is the easiest way to get my ideas out of my head. It also helps him see details in a more three-dimensional approach. That’s what I started doing more with client work and thoroughly enjoyed the process and the way it communicates the more intricate details of a space. I thought I’d put together a few pictures of the kitchen to help you out.
As I said, it’s not my absolute dream kitchen (this is our original plan if you remember). But we’re not going to live here that Much later, we decided to scale back by not relocating Backdoor and not doing any significant plumbing or structural work. And this is where we landed. And while it’s a deviation from the original plan (complete with the beautiful, oversized island I dreamed of), it’s For real A lovely space filled with lots of charm and really cute and functional moments. These details include, but are not limited to, wall paneling, layered lighting, a stunning farmhouse sink, open shelving, and a cute built-in bench nook. I’m in (Christmas cookie decorating party, who?!)
Oh please. It has entered “i’m so excited” It’s a project stage and more updates are planned. Let me know if you have any questions or if there’s a specific post you’d like to see. I’m an open book and happy to share all of the details (including costs, if you’re interested. People don’t usually talk about that aspect of renovations and it’s kind of an important factor I know it is).
