good news, our Bonneville Peel & Stick Floor Tiles Back in stock! It’s been almost 10 months since the website broke on its first launch and sold out in minutes. There have been a few small restocks between then and now, but I hope this go-around continues for a long time! This staircase was recently removed, leaving the floor in need of a patch.
Before removal of stairs
Floors that need patches
we first applied floor pops on the existing cork floor. So when the stairs were removed, all that was left was concrete. floor popsI’ll leave it to Chris Please explain how he did it!
Materials used
Floor preparation and leveling
I used to lay floor tiles over cork floors, so I had to lay some. cement board Level this area before applying peel and stick floor tilesBasically, the floor was prepped to lay other types of flooring, such as sweeping, scraping, and scraping debris that interfered with the levelness of the floor. This includes plaster chips, thick paint splatters, dirt, etc.
lay new substrate material
I measured the thickness of the previous board and found it to be just over 1/2 inch thick. So i used 1/2 inch cement board in layers of tile adhesive Under. cement board Very easy to work with as most cuts are possible Razor blade knife with carbide tip.
Once I had all the pieces measured and cut, I dry-laid them so they would fit in the proper positions.
Then I large notch trowel Apply glue before putting cement board.
later cement board was in place, i used mesh tape and putty knife Create a seamless surface to fill gaps and add floor tiles.
So much for leveling floors! Place a fan in the room and let it dry for at least 8 hours before sanding the seams and cleaning the floor. Then I wiped it off with a damp cloth before the next step. Not a damp cloth, just damp.
Apply peel and stick floor tiles
After removing the partially cut floor pops, I started laying them out from left to right, alternating patterns and directions.
floor tile It’s very easy to cut by scoring (with medium/light pressure) a few times with a razor blade knife and popping along the score marks.
The whole project took about 2 hours. One hour to patch the substrate and another hour to lay the tiles (with 8-24 hours drying in between). The hardest part was honestly picking up the previously placed FlooPops. these tiles Sticks really, really well. Here is the finished patch job:
