our spring home tour
This year, we are doing something a little different for our spring home tour. I usually like to do a full room tour so I can show you all the details, but this time I’ve gone a little more minimal and just added a few touches here and there. I didn’t participate in most of the home tours, but I wanted to show how a little ingenuity can change the atmosphere of a space.
Seasonal decorations can be whatever you want. Some years I want to go all out, and other years I’m drawn to simpler, more subtle decorations. My mother passed away a few weeks ago. I’m definitely at a stage where I need simplicity and peace in my home, and I really haven’t had the time {or the motivation} to pull out all the usual spring and Easter decorations.
The second reason I didn’t do much decorating this spring is to get new hardwood floors and a new staircase throughout the main floor and upstairs very soon! is!We’re getting natural hickory floors and plan to make hickory and black metal spindles for the stairs. all You’ll be out of the house for a few weeks, so the less you pack, the better!
easy spring decorating ideas
If you want to add a touch of spring to your home but don’t want to spend a lot of time or money, there are plenty of simple spring decorating ideas you can try. I’ve put together some quick tips that I’ve used myself.
Add flowers and greenery.
Spring means flowers and greenery! I love adding little pops of faux greenery throughout my home.Pop them in vases, place them on shelves, or use them in vignettes and centerpieces to add texture and color. blueberry branch From Afloral, I love them {in fact, they have a big sale right now!}
As much as I love using fake greenery, I love having at least a few real plants to add a little extra life to the space. and I still love them. They are very quick and easy to make. You can’t go wrong. Click here for easy DIY tutorials and care instructions.
And can you really do a spring home tour without tulips? Lol! I love the different types and colors of tulips and they are probably one of the most affordable flowers.
Assemble the centerpiece.
A simple centerpiece is one of the easiest ways to add seasonal flair to your space. If you’re not sure where to start, grab three items of varying heights and textures, group them on a tray or cutting board, and tie them all together. You can add small sprigs of greenery or other embellishments to add a little pop of color.
This was one of my favorite Easter highlights a few years back. Again, it’s a simple group on a tray that comes together in minutes!
For a kitchen or dining room table, a cutting board works well as a tray and helps ground the centerpiece. I used a few.
Add artwork.
Switching photo frames with seasonal art and free printables is one of the simplest seasonal decorating ideas. Just store them all in a photo frame and swap them out seasonally. I can find other artwork you like online. This Hippity Hoppity Easter can be printed here.
Create some cute vignettes.
You can create cute seasonal vignettes on shelves, side tables, and consoles. If you want to create your own hot chocolate display, we have a whole printable set of Easter hot chocolate bars. Alternatively, you can use this printable chocolate and confectionery.
I also kept a chai bar in my kitchen and added ceramic bunnies and greenery for a softer touch of spring. increase.
Find some cute seasonal pieces.
Even if you only have a few minutes to decorate, take a few seasonal pieces and layer them over your regular decor. I really like this simple white rabbit. They’re a cement type material with a bit of texture.
And since it can be used in so many different ways and vignettes, it’s fun to change it every year. Check out my previous home tours and you can sport them in lots of fun places.
