It’s a lovely summer Friday, and it’s the perfect time to share Cocktail #2 from our Summer Cocktail series. Did you have this amazing Spike Tropical Green Juice (aka Green Margarita) last week?
My team and I fell in love with this creamy, perfectly sweet and easy product. coconut margarita recipe. It’s the perfect combination of sour and sweet, and tastes like you’re drinking a cold pina colada on the beach (even if the beach is a lake in my case). Coconut Lime Margarita, Coconut Margarita with lime, call it whatever you want, but know it’s definitely a crowd pleaser.
Added instructions for adding a beautiful toasted coconut rim. As you know, we want to add just a few. Enjoy this happy hour delight with your girlfriends, at parties, and wherever you want your tropical island to take you.
Ingredients for Easy Coconut Margarita
That’s right, you only need four key ingredients to make this refreshing, sweet, tart, tropical margarita.
- tequila: I like to use Silver Tequila, also known as Tequila Blanco, in all my margarita recipes. I haven’t tried this recipe with any other liquor, so I don’t know what it will taste like!
- lime: Squeezed with fresh lime juice for the perfect acidity.
- sweetener: feel free to use agave syrup again simple syrup To sweeten margaritas. See below for how to make your own simple syrup with just two ingredients. Many margarita recipes call for triple sec or cointreau, but I prefer agave.
- Coconut milk: you will need some full fat coconut milk To get the real coconut flavor (from the can). Many people use coconut cream or coconut cream to add sweetness and richness, but I like to combine canned coconut milk with a little agave for a more natural flavor.
- Garnish with: I like toast topping my glass shredded coconut Rims, lime peels, and lime wedges!
How to make easy syrup
Easy Shortcut for Simple Syrup: Shake Equals Granulated sugar and water (3 tablespoons for each 2 coconut margaritas). small jar Let stand for 1-2 minutes until sugar dissolves. that’s it!
decorate that glass
The most enjoyable part of this Coconut Margarita is the toasted coconut rim. So clean and easy! simply:
- Toast the shredded coconut in a pan over low heat for about 4 to 6 minutes, stirring frequently until the coconut is just golden brown. After that, pour it into a small plate and let it cool.
- Cut the limes into wedges and rub the cut edges of the limes along the rim of each glass.
- Dip the rim of the glass into the toasted coconut and roll from side to side until both are coated.
Make Coconut Lime Margarita in 3 Easy Steps
- Get your glasses ready. First, add shredded toasted coconut to each glass (if using).
- shake it. Add all margarita ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake for 15-20 seconds until well combined.
- Garnish and serve. Divide coconut margarita between two glasses and garnish with lime wedges and additional lime zest.
Can you serve more people?
absolutely! This Coconut Lime Margarita can easily be doubled, tripled, or quadrupled for large groups. Add ingredients to pitcher, stir well and serve.

The incredible 4-ingredient Coconut Margarita is sweet, tart and creamy made perfectly with fresh lime juice and coconut milk. Add a touch of tropical flavor by topping the glass with toasted shredded coconut for a fun twist on the classic margarita recipe. The perfect cocktail for gatherings at the beach, pool or patio.
material
- For cocktails:
- Four ounce silver tequila
- 2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 1/2 ounce agave (or simple syrup)
- 3 ounce full fat coconut milk
- 2 cup ice
- If provided:
- Lime wedges for framing and garnishing glasses
- 2 tablespoon unsweetened finely chopped coconut to rim the glass
- lime peel for garnish

First, make the toasted coconut rims. Add the chopped coconut to the pot and place on the stovetop over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until coconut is browned, about 4-6 minutes, then pour toasted coconut onto a plate and let cool for a few minutes. Wet the rim of the glass with a lime wedge, dip the rim into the toasted coconut, and roll from side to side until well coated. Repeat with the second glass.

Then make a margarita. Add tequila, agave (or simple syrup), lime juice, coconut milk and ice to cocktail shaker. Cover tightly and shake for 15-20 seconds.

Divide margarita into prepared glasses, garnish with lime wedges around the rim, and garnish with freshly grated lime zest on top of margarita. cheers!
