Closet Cleaning-Free Yourself!

by Contributing Author

cleaning the closet. Clearing out unwanted or unused clothing is not an easy task for anyone. It can be hard to let go of things you “think” you’ll wear but never actually wear. Abandon it! Don’t lie to yourself. Throw it away if it doesn’t fit! That’s okay, and hey! It’s an excuse to get new things to actually wear. It feels great to let go of the clothes you wore ‘old’. I have a small closet too. So if your closet is also small, cleaning your closet once or twice a year will give you space and a piece of your mind.

The first and most important step in cleaning your closet – take everything out.

Now, to start cleaning out your closet, start sifting and immediately start asking the following questions.

*Is that okay?
*Has it been worn within the last 6 months to 1 year?
*Will you wear it again?
*If you see it in the store, would you buy it again?
*Do I like the way it looks on me?
*Is it damaged?

Hang the clothes you store neatly to see what you have.

With your Reject Pile, you can either sell it or donate it. Everything after that should be discarded.

Here’s how I determine it:

Selling: In very good to good condition, can be used many times.
Do not fit.
It’s not your style.
Expensive and not worn in 6 months to a year.

Donate: Shows signs of use but still has life.
There is no damage and the size does not fit, or it has not been worn for half a year to a year. Throw away: clothes torn, discolored, torn, stained, underwear. It is used to the point of no return.donate to local St. Binnie’s Also Goodwill.

When you’re finally done decluttering your closet (well, make it a “whole weekend task,” because life gets busy, even if it takes a few days), it’s a liberating feeling, and it often sells over time. I have. your clothes, you get some extra cash :)! That’s never a bad thing. Donating always makes me feel better knowing someone can reuse something.

If you have extra cash, take a break and let someone else clean it up. Best cleaning service, consider hiring Madison!
