Honestly, I don’t want to give you a simple list of questions because it depends on what stage of viewing you are in (1st or last), the type of move you are making (sale or rent), and who is doing the viewing (agent or owner).
With these options in mind – take a look at all of them below – we hope it helps you ask the right questions at the right time.
This helps you avoid being overloaded by asking everything on the first display and helps you understand when and what is important to know.

List of 4 Questions to Ask a Realtor Before Viewing a Property
You may have these answers before your tour, but you should ask them when you decide to check out the home you’re considering moving into.
- How long have you been on the market?
- Were there other offers?
- Will they accept the offer if it is below the asking price?
- What is the status of the seller? Can they move quickly? Have they found a place to move?
1st Watch – 18 Questions
It is a viewing to know whether you like the atmosphere of this house and whether you would like to live there.
You will be guided by either the current owner or a real estate agent.
Tips: It’s totally fine to leave questions for agents and have them answer after you watch. This is a big purchase. you want to get it right
- What kind of work have they done since they lived there?
- Do you still have a valid warranty?
- Is there anything about the house they feel you need to know? For example, access to neighboring properties across land.
- Are all property boundaries clear to everyone?
- Are all the windows double glazed?
- Is there a problem if parking is on the street or in a shared drive? How many cars do they currently have parked there and are there more that could be a problem?
- Is your home well insulated?
- Does the property have restrictions such as listing or has previous building plans been rejected?
- Do you have existing planning permits still in effect?
Specific questions for apartments
- What is the service charge?
- What kind of common facilities are there? garden and parking lot?
- Who is responsible for what?
- What kind of facilities are there in the area? Shops, schools, parks, public transport, etc…
- what about the neighbors? Things like noisy neighbors can create a lot of stress. Because this is a bonus.
- Is traffic okay at any time of the day?
- Is there anything I should be aware of in this area? For example, planned building developments, local conflicts, etc…

- why are they moving? This is an important question. The reason is that even if it doesn’t affect you now, it could be a problem you face in the future. For example, if they want to transfer to a good high school and don’t have kids yet, it makes me wonder if they are likely to transfer in x years.

Questions about house management
- What is the average city tax and utility bill?
- What is the water pressure? Turn on the display or perform a tap to test.
- What about broadband and Wi-Fi signals? It matters to most people now. Especially if you’re working from home. For example, I was with SKY when I moved, but when I got it to fit my new tableware, I found that there was a big tree across the road that prevented me from receiving signals. and I didn’t know it. I hadn’t used this service in a while, but I could have avoided it by asking ahead of time.
- How long have the boiler, fuse box, etc. been serviced regularly?
- What sticks and what doesn’t? For example, lighting fixtures, white goods, and window dressings may be included in the sale, but are otherwise costly.
- Are there any products sold separately? I sold my artwork and range cooker in a previous sale and purchased a wardrobe that matched my bedroom perfectly when I moved into my current home.
- How fast do you want to move / do you need to move? This will give you a good idea of the timeline you plan to work with the property chain, and whether it will work (e.g. you may need to borrow a little bit, which is expensive). .

These are things you might have to ask others, but you’ll want to know by the end of your viewing.
- Is your home in good condition?
- Can you see the cracks? You can also ask them to specifically check these in your survey
- Light in the room – Which way is the property facing?
- Can you hear traffic noise inside or outside your home?
- Are you overlooking your garden (or other outdoor space)?
- Is there room for future home improvements? Did other neighbors do anything you could see? I mean, is there any precedent for extensions etc..
- What is your cell phone coverage like? Check while walking around the house.
- If you have a loft, is it easy to access?

- Is there mold or moisture? Look for signs such as peeling wallpaper or paint…
- What would you like to change in this house immediately and how much would it cost?
- How much storage space do you have? Need more attached storage?
- Does the home flow suit you and your lifestyle? Need to reconfigure your space?
- Can you easily enter the shower or bath? This sounds silly, but it can be a real pain if you move out and find one of them is too small and needs to be changed.
- Check your roof for missing tiles, bends, chimney issues, etc… (Should this be replaced soon?)
